WILL TO WIN INFO MEETING HELD AT WILL ROGERS MEMORIAL MUSEUM

Movie producers welcomed guests from across the country to get the latest scoop on the Will To Win movie at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. Producers Russ Kirkpatrick & Andy Kinslow, Screenwriter Aaron Fulkerson, and Author Jim Stovall were the speakers, with a special video appearance from Jennifer Rogers-Etcheverry.

FIRST TABLE READ HELD AT WILL ROGERS HIGH SCHOOL

The first exclusive table read for the Will to Win movie script was held at Will Rogers High School, where part of the movie will be filmed. It was the first time that Screenwriter Aaron Fulkerson and Author Jim Stovall had the chance to hear the script’s dialogue read aloud in public. Drama students and teachers from Will Rogers High read for various characters, while Jennifer Rogers-Etcheverry read the part of Will Rogers, her great-grandfather. Film students from Webster High School also joined to document the table read.

DID YOU KNOW?

Will Rogers and Walt Disney were close friends. When they met in the 1930’s, both men were at the height of their careers in the entertainment industry and discovered that they shared a love for Polo. Walt often found himself playing polo matches with Will at the Rogers Ranch in California. In 1933, Rogers made a cameo in one of Disney’s many Mickey Mouse cartoons, Mickey’s Gala Premiere, and was set to make an appearance in the 1936 cartoon Mickey’s Polo Team. However, Disney decided to remove Rogers’ sequences in the short after his untimely death in 1935. Read more about their friendship here.
